Another aspect of Youth Evangelism that is often overlooked falls into the arena of civil and political issues. I believe that we as parents and church leaders far to often shy away from these oppurtunities to empower the Youth to stand for Christ in our future governments.  I am excited to speak about a cause that I believe in and support and that is Generation Joshua.  Before touching on this outreach I would like to set the stage on why I believe this is important to Youth Evangelism.  This country was founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the future of this great country depends upon the leadership that it to come. John Winthrop, governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony, wrote in 1630 concerning New England and America: "We shall be as a City upon a hill.  The eyes of all people are upon us".  He also warned that "if we shall deal falsely with our God in this work we have undertaken, and so cause him to withdraw his present help from us, we shall be made a story and a byword throughout the world".  Daniel Webster the creator of the Dictionary said "The Christian Religion-it's general principles-must ever be regarded among us as the foundation of civil society".  Abraham Lincoln's words bring chills down my spine when he says the Philosophy of  today's schoolroom will be the Philosophy of Government to come.  I would challenge all of us to take inventory and ask yourself what the philosophy of today's schoolroom is.  This can be a scary thought for tomorrow's government but I believe their is still hope.
    Next let us take a look at what scripture says concerning believers and the role they play within government.  Deut 1 13:15 speaks to Moses asking the Israelites to choose leaders with wisdom,understanding and a good reputation. In the book of Genesis we are told of Joseph's role as the governor of all Egypt and the blessing and protection he brought.  Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego all were godly men in the middle of Babylon and its government.  Esther, Mordecai, and Nehemiah were wonderful examples as well.  The fact of the matter is that God has given us many examples of Godly people serving and influencing pagan governments.
    This is where Generation Joshua comes into play. The organization was started by the Home School Legal Defense Association but by no means is it only limited to Home School Kids. The organizations main goal is to train and equip Youth between the ages of 11 and 19 about Judeo-Christian Foundations and how to implement these foundations in political and civic arenas.  The Sanctity of Life, Traditional Marriage and Judicial Activism are 3 of many battles threatening this Judeo-Christian Foundation which many of our Founders believed in as well as Today's Christians who stand for Freedom.  The future is now and the Christian Youth are the answer to turn the tide.  For those who stand with me and realize this tremendous opportunity To EVANGELIZE THE YOUTH I have included this link to Generation Joshua. http://www.generationjoshua.org/dnn/
