Evangelism Outreach Transforming the Youth and Culture
I have been recently blessed in the reading of a letter written by Kerby Anderson who heads up the outreach ministry of Point of View which is a daily radio broadcast which can be heard on many Christian radio stations across this country. I want to take the time to share with all of you the exact letter that I and many Point of View listeners and supporters received this past week. I believe so much in this ministry and believe that it is a tremendous tool that God is using to impact this Culture. What better way to be a part of Evangelism for the Youth and take back this Culture then to get involved with this ministry and share their message with your children and your friends. I encourage you all to read this letter in it's entirety, be blessed by Kerby's message and then check out the link to Point of View on the sidebar of this site. I pray you will be motivated to get involved or at the least listen to their broadcasts via the radio or pod cast on a regular basis.
"There is a painting on the wall behind my desk that is the first thing I see every day when I enter my office at Point of View. To me, it's a reminder of how America became the most powerful and prosperous nation in the history of the world.
It's a painting of George Washington kneeling in the snow of Valley Forge to offer up a prayer as his fledgling nation teeters on the brink of defeat.
When I see it, it reminds me that this great nation was born of a struggle that went against all the odds. But more importantly, it reminds me of how we overcame those odds.
From the Pilgrims to the Patriots at Valley Forge, we were a people seeking for freedom to worship God as he directed us, a cause supported through the power of prayer.
Today our nation is once again struggling to survive. We face an enemy outside our borders that would see us destroyed because of the faith that has sustained us.
We also face our own internal struggles as the markets of Wall Street have been rocked by the failure of one financial giant after another.
That painting reminds me that we have seen trying times before, and God has always brought us through.
I believe that God ordained the founding of this nation to serve His purpose in the earth. And in spite of the naysayers, I believe that America still has a mission to fulfill.
I believe that God is not through with America!
That faith I believe we share raises the challenge to all of us to continue to fight to preserve our Godly heritage.
From it's beginnings, America was a nation of vision and destiny. We were created with a mission that was grounded in an explicit covenant between God and the people.
Even our Declaration of Independence declares that "all men are created equal," showing that our freedoms do not come from a king, or a government, but from God.
The only thing that has kept America free for more than 200 years has been our belief in our reliance upon God.
So, this is not a time to be fearful, or discouraged. Rather, it is a time for intense prayer, repentance, and a return to the original purpose of America - to be One Nation Under God!
When this nation was first formed and its future lay in doubt, our leaders trusted and relied upon God.
George Washington was a man who spent hours in prayer. Revealing his deep dedication to God, he wrote in his private prayer book : "Direct my thoughts, words and work. Wash away my sins in the immaculate Blood of the Lamb, and purge my heart by Thy Holy Spirit....Daily frame me more and more into the likeness of Thy Son Jesus Christ."
Although not a perfect nation, God has singled out America and has blessed us materially, spiritually, and politically like no other nation before it.
I remember the words of Dr. Bill Broght when he wrote: "I readily admit that America has never been perfect, nor will it ever be - only God is completely holy and righteous. But as our nation has turned to God in the past in the midst of deep crisis, He has given us amazing success. We can do that again. God wants to help us, and He is more powerful and creative than any enemies we will ever face. He can provide victory through the power of His Holy Spirit and the wisdom of His word. "
I wish I could tell you what the future holds. But only God knows.
But I can tell you this: As America turns to God, and with His help, we will overcome any dark days that may lie ahead.
Let me challenge you with the fact that each one of us can be instruments in God's hands to lead this nation back to it's biblical foundations.
With our nation gripped in fear and uncertainty, people are seeking answers. And we have those answers.
Now is the time for heroes. Now is the time for each one of us to rise in faith and lead our country through these difficult times.
If we accept the challenge, this time of uncertainty can be a turning point in the direction America has been going.
As we humble ourselves before God, this can be a time of the most genuine and life- changing spiritual renewal America has ever seen!"

This letter is very fitting for the tough times that we, Americans, are going though. I hear a lot of my neighbors and friends complaining about the tough times. People need to realize that although America has seen better times, things could be much worse. This great country allows people to forget how much of the world lives. Even in this bad times, life here in America is many times great better than much of the rest of the world. I hope that the American people can see how good life is and give praise to the Lord for His Blessing.
